It is on the shelter located in front of the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, in Atatürk boulevard. It was erected in memory of the Martyrs and Veteran soldiers who took part to the First World War. It was built in 1917. The monument is 8.5 meters talland has 4 inscriptions: two on the north side, and two on the south side. One of the inscriptions is highly emotional: “Bu hacer samit değil, iklil-i cihadı ekberdir – This stone is not silent, it is the crown of the big war” . All the inscriptions were written by the famous Urfa calligrapher Ahmet Vefik Efendi. The monument, which was originally located on Sarayönü Street, was then moved in front of Ziraat Bank in 1983 and finally in 2010, it was moved to its current place.
