Continental climate prevails in this region with very hot and dry summers and warm and rainy winters. Due to dry climate, daily and annual temperatures show considerable differences. Mean temperature in the middle of summer is about 40°C (104 °F). The most appropriate period to visit Şanlıurfa is spring and autumn. Since high temperatures may cause dehydration, it is recommended that you should carry plenty of water with you.
