Among the inns, the most famous is Gümrük Inn,through which an open fresh water pipe, coming from Balıklı Lake, passes. Huge plane trees were plantedin its courtyardand even though they were recently trimmed, they still give their shadow to the visitors. The Inn was built in 1563 at the time of Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent. Vistors can now find tea and coffee houses on its courtyard and tailors’ shops on its second floor. It is a very popular destination for tourists to Şanlıurfa where local people wearing traditional clothing can still be found.
