Generally known as “symbol of patience”, both Holy place and tomb of Prophet Eyyub are in Şanlıurfa. Descended from Prophet Abraham, Prophet Eyyub came from Damascus and settled in Eyyubnebi, he became the sultan of patience, and was buried in Urfa after his death. His Holy place is located 3 km east of Urfa Castle, in Eyyubiye Neighbourhood. The well in his maqam contains a very cold, and never dries up. Throughout the history, the water of his well is considered to be a healing water by the Muslims and Christians; many kings and chiefs bathed in this water in order to recover from illnesses.
