Şahapzade Bakır House is one of the best examples of traditional Urfa houses. It is understood from the inscription on its outer gate that it was built in 1674. Rich stone decorations on the facade walls of the spaces surrounding the courtyard and “bird houses” on the wall to the west of the courtyard attract attention. After the restoration works, it was used by the Cultural and Natural Heritage Preservation Board for a while and then allocated to NGOs.
