Selahaddin Eyyübi Mosque (St. Johannes Prodromos Addai Church)

It has been thought that it was built in the 19th Century on John the Baptist Church, which was built by Bishop Nona in 457. Because of its period and its being the biggest church in the region, it was also called cathedral. For a long time, it stayed as a ruin; it was used as a power house for a period, and it was restored in 1993, later on it has begun to give service as a mosque. The interior of it is illuminated with wide windows. Its columns and dragon reliefs, which have remained from the period it was a church, are highly interesting. Since it was first used as a mosque in Sultan Saladin’s period, it was named with his name. It is very close to Balıklıgöl Complex.
